Thank you Paul, it's always good to get positive feedback & much appreciated :)

The non/affiliated links are something I decided to do. mainly because the Craft and Vision e-books are so good and so reasonably priced that they'd have to do something really out of the ordinary for me to not recommend a release in some way. I mean, for less than the price of a 4-pack of your favourite beer it's hard to say that 70 pages of insight is bad value! It's on a par with any monthly magazine.

That being the case I think it's important for people to have a choice and know that i'm saying they're good because I believe they are, as opposed to just saying "It's great, go and buy it!" because i'll get something out of it.

Regards my own work and the landscape images I mentioned in the post are at http://www.reflected-landscape.com/ and my Belgrade work is here at http://www.ianfurniss.co.uk/gallery/ Hope you enjoy them & thanks again :)

Hi Ian,

Thanks for the review. I also appreciate how you are open about the affiliate link at the end. I got here from the Craft & Vision Facebook site, so I'll check out your work today.

Thanks Neil, it's good to know i'm not the only one that suffers from this!

The backlog is actually something I benefitted from recently when I came a cross a couple of pictures I liked but had rejected for not being 'quite right'. Picking the same white balance or the same colour profile for a batch of images is one of my common habits and going back to them, just that one change meant I saw them in a completely different way and an old reject suddenly became a keeper.

Swings & roundabouts I guess, but very frustrating when you can't put your finger on it!

Good point well made Ian.
I've found myself in this situation in the past too. Though I seem to end up closing Lightroom and just going and shooting some more, but all I end up with is a large backlog of processing, and going in ever decreasing circles!

Many thanks for the comment & kind words Linda. As you say, it's a habit that's very hard to get out of and there are still times I find myself thinking "shut up! Don't say another word!" two seconds after i've opened my mouth. Hopefully, with conscious practice it can be kept to a minimum :)

Hello....I have just read your blog through a realtive's link on facebook and would just like to say thank you for sharing these thoughts. It's so easy to get into the habit of self criticism and very hard to get out of it. Very sound advice and once again...thank you

Kindest regards
